Vic and Rob O enjoying the kitchen remodel Following on from last month’s article, I’m delighted to say that our new new kitchen is in, up and running, just waiting for a few final touches to complete. It looks great and our ‘men in hats’ have done incredibly well to fit smooth modern units into a definitely not straight walled room. So good to see people happy in their work! Attention will now turn to getting the rest of the clubhouse and the green ready for our Opening Gala

As we fast approach the start of the playing season there are a few items to make you aware of. The club was formed in 1908 and moved to our current location in 1956 so we are celebrating 70 years this year at the recreation ground. A celebration of this milestone will be announced in the near future. The access code to open the key box for the key to open the clubhouse will be changed with effect from Monday 16 February. Birthday girls Ange Smith and Dawn Crewe Things are fairly quiet at Tetbury Bowls Club during January and February. The Christmas activities are over and outside the new edging is finished, bulbs are planted in the pots ready for spring and the green is treated and resting to be in great condition for the season. With the end of year festivities behind us we can look forward to whatever 2026 has in store for us. Whilst the outdoor bowling season has come to end for 2025 the Club’s thoughts turn to preparation for 2026. The green is the first action that has to be taken in the autumn and winter months. Our greenkeepers are supported in their early endeavours of putting the green to bed by Avonmoor our contractors who arrive during October to use various pieces of specialised machinery to cut, slice, sweep and bore the green followed by an application of 6 tons of top dressing and rese

This is my last newsletter of the year but my first with the newly formed Management Committee.  At the recently held Management Committee meeting I was able to welcome three new members to the committee.  Firstly Brian Westcott who has become Club Captain, Garry Edwards, who has taken on the role of Chair of the Club competitions, and Mark Janaway as a General Committee member.
