Our Guide Dog - Bowler

October 2021: Bowler seems to be doing very well according to his 1st Report Card. Lots of work ahead on his social skills, but it's early days yet.

September 2021: We've received our first 'pupdate' about Bowler! This is provided by his Puppy Raiser, Carol, so we can see how he has settled in and what he has been getting up to.

July 2021: We are now proudly sponsoring newly born Bowler (see image) who was born on 2 June 2021; here's his birth certificate. He will soon be placed with his Puppy Walker, who will start to teach him the skills that he will need as a future guide dog

April 2021: Members agreed to wait for a new puppy to be born so that it could be named Bowler.

March 2021: Bowler was withdrawn from the guide dogs training scheme and rehomed with a loving family.

A short video to introduce members to Bowler.

To help members understand the training programme and at what age the puppy will achieve certain goals, take a look at this info sheet. It covers 12 weeks to 10 months.

September 2018: Tetbury Bowls Club held a 24-hour non-stop bowls marathon to raise funds for The Guides for the Blind. Over £5,000 was raised and we were able to sponsor a new puppy that we called 'Bowler'. Read the article in the Wilts & Glos Standard.
