Tetbury Bowls in the Community

Well, what a mixed season it’s turning out to be.
We’ve played in baking sunshine and pouring rain and have had to reorganise more than one match but things are in full swing now and there’s a lot going on.
Four of our members represented the club at the Community Showcase held at Sir William Romney. Our ‘stall’ gathered a lot of interest as did the ‘have a go’ bowls target we took with us, which proved very popular with all ages.
July sees two exciting events for Tetbury Bowls Club. On Monday the 6th of July at 4;00 pm we will be hosting a tour group of twelve American visitors through Wilderness England. They will be given a guided tour of the club and have the opportunity to have a go at lawn bowling themselves.
Then on the 19th of July we will celebrate the 70th Anniversary of TBC with a roll up followed by a barbecue and we hope to have some past members join us.
If you’d like to come and see us in action there are frequent club competitions happening. Ladies league matches are Mondays with home games on the 13th and the 20th of July, and men’s league on the 14th and the 21st. The 11th of July sees the early rounds of our Pride Pairs Competition, the men’s Gloucester Bowlers team play Berkshire on the 15th and on the 18th and 19th both we have friendly matches at home. Friday evenings see our popular internal league where newer members get the chance to play in a variety of positions, great experience for everyone.
If you’d prefer to have a go yourself our last open day is Saturday the 4th f July, we’d love to see you there.
