Other associated costs

There are other costs associated with playing lawn bowls, in addition to membership subscription and possible investment in your bowls equipment and club clothing. These include:

Match fee - This fee is paid by each player when they compete in a match. For 2024, it is £3.00.

A car sharing fee for travel to away games - The club sets out annual mileage rate for each venue (available in the Members Only section) and is paid by passengers to the driver to help offset their costs.

Selection process for novices/new members and juniors

The club plays many fixtures during a season. Novices/new members are encouraged to indicate they are available to play to their respective team captains. They may be selected for friendlies and, if available, midweek triple matches. And, they may enter the many different in-house club competitions.

However, novices/new members are unlikely to be selected for league games until they have gained more experience of the sport. We aim to give as many people a league game as possible while remaining competitive.
