Despite the continuing record breaking temperatures your Club has been very busy with a number of high profile events.
Firstly, our twelve visitors from America arrived safely on their bikes (having flown in) and enjoyed a brief introduction to lawn bowls followed by a cream tea served the Cornish way!
Not long after this we hosted Gloucestershire County Men versus Berkshire County Men. 6 rinks, so a total of 48 players, plus some supporters. It was of course another very hot day but they managed 18 ends with Berkshire just coming out on top. The visitors were served with a two course meal with the opportunity to savour cold drinks from the bar. Thank you to all who turned out to support the event and to all who gave prizes for the raffle which helped swell our funds.
Our 70th anniversary of moving to our current location will be celebrated this Sunday with what looks to be a fun social event with the usual bowls games, BBQ and target bowls.
The orders for a new Upton Mill sponsored jacket is closed and the order for 54 jackets has been made. They should be with us by the end of August in readiness for the awful weather of September!
The next Gloucestershire Bowls Association Members' Forum will be held on Saturday 19 September at 10 am. The venue has yet to be agreed. All Tetbury members can attend either in person or online. A link will be known nearer the time. If any player has an issue they should contact our area representative, Sally Rolls. Susanne has Sally's contact details.
Your Management Committee has a break in August and will meet again in September.
In the meantime I hope you enjoy playing and/or watching bowls and the facilities offered at your Club.
Best wishes
Keith
