News from the Chair September 2026
At the time of writing we have just held the Closing Gala on what was seen as a very successful event. We had 44 members playing over 6 rinks with a number of spectators who all came together at the end to enjoy a buffet that Heather put together for us.
Whilst the playing season has ended for most members, we have 24 members who are extending their outdoor playing season by jetting off to Portugal on 5 October for a week of bowling with four matches arranged.
The Club's Presentation Dinner will take place at the Club on Saturday 24 October and more details will be sent out shortly.
Following the Presentation Dinner we will be holding the Annual General Meeting on Monday 26 October starting at 7 pm sharp. Please allow time when you arrive to fill in your voting form as to whom you want to see on the Management Committee.
Looking towards 2027, we have been invited to play a match at a Club that will be celebrating its 100th year anniversary. I will be keeping the name of the Club secret and will provide more information later in the year. The date provisionally is Sunday 13 June and will be a full day involving coach transport to and from the venue. This event will be open to both players and social members. The cost will be around £40 pp and will be dependent on how many want to take part.
The Gloucestershire Bowls Association Members' Forum did not take place on 19 September. Once a new date and venue are known the details will be passed on to you.
Best wishes
