Those of you walking by the bowls club on the cemetary side will have seen the big tree painted on the wall of our changing rooms. This is our memory tree. Members can buy an individually painted leaf with the names and dates of past players at the club. It’s proved popular with more than a dozen memorials to loved ones, family and friends now gone but never forgotten.
Tetbury Bowls Club would like to thank again the Feoffees for their generous donation allowing us to buy more training kit for our growing junior section. This includes a bowls target wedge, which is great fun and already well used at junior training, practice nights and open days. More about this next month. We took it with us when four members set up stall at the Cotswold Community Showcase at Sir William Romney. Lots of people of all ages enjoyed having a go and we hope to see some of you again.
Our season is now well under way with league nights on Mondays and Tuesdays and midweek and weekend friendly matches. Club competitions are individually arranged at various times. Members of the public are welcome to come and join in the atmosphere as spectators. We are playing Bradley Stoke at home on 6th June and Calne on 14th. We often see people watching us through the fence from the Rec. or over the cemetary wall. Please come in & watch from the comfort of a seat on the bank, the bar is usually open too!
Our first Play Bowls Open Day on Sunday 3rd of May saw a few new people turning up to try bowling for themselves and have signed up for more coaching. Our next Open Day is Saturday 13th June, anytime between 10am and 4pm. Wear flat shoes and we’ll do the rest but please remember to enter your car registration on arrival. We look forward to seeing you.
