News from the Chair 2

The Management Committee met for the second time this year on 2 February and discussed numerous items looking towards our playing season and upcoming social events.

Of immediate interest is members meeting at the Club to watch the 6 Nations Rugby and catch up with other members.

A date for your diaries is Saturday 11 November when we will be holding our annual dinner and prize giving. This year we will be holding the event at the Clubhouse and Lisa and Chris have sourced a local caterer to cook, serve and clear up for us.

The Wacky Races will be taking place on 1 May this year and we will be repeating our Fun Of The Fair stalls. Last year we did very well in raising funds for the Lions and ourselves and hope for a repeat this year. Volunteers will be sought nearer the time to help us run the stalls.

Before the season starts your Coaches will be offering some informal coaching sessions on "reading the head" and "choice of shot". This first session will be held on Thursday 16 March at 7 pm. This will be conducted indoors. A second session will be run on Thursday 13 April at the same time and covering measuring and etiquette.

We have a club Facebook Group page and I would encourage you to look at postings and of course you are able to create posts yourself to appear on our page. Please do not post anything that could be seen as controversial or embarrassing to you or the Club.

An initiative we have been following to raise funds is "Easy Fundraising" which costs users nothing but raises funds for the Club. If you do online shopping, even having your food shopping delivered, please consider signing up to www.easyfundraising.org.uk in support of Tetbury Bowls, just send us an email and we will send you a link from the fundraising page to sign up. As Tesco says "every little helps" and this can raise funds for our club with minimal effort.

Lisa and Angela P have been making progress on new Club tops and bottoms and will be looking to have some samples to share with you as they progress their research.
