At the time of writing this newsletter it is 66 days until the Opening Gala which I am sure we are all looking forward to.
At the last Management Committee meeting, we had an update on membership renewals and the majority of members have paid their subs. which makes planning easier for the start of the season along with financial planning. It was also good to hear from a number of members at the last Sunday morning get together that they have sourced their new navy blue trousers and/or shorts.
We have just over £600 in the kitchen refurbishment fund and have two events coming up to help boost the funds. Club member Rich Thomas is looking for sponsorship to have his head and eyebrows shaved at an event at the club. Funds raised will be shared between ourselves and a charity that Rich wishes to support. The date of the shaving/scalping is to be confirmed but will be sometime in May.
In addition to this fundraising event, we are looking to hold an auction on the 12 or 19 July. We do, however, need a member willing to organise the event. If you think this is something you would like to organise for your club, please let me know.
Calne are holding a triples Gala Day on 19 May and details can be found on our club noticeboard if you are interested.
Victor has taken delivery of new ditch mats and these will need fitting prior to the start of the season. Please watch out for an email looking for help in the laying of the new mats. There is 160 meters of mat to lay so support would be appreciated.
Our newly built balcony wall is just waiting for an improvement in weather to receive coats of paint. Chris B and Dawn are looking to lead this activity so if you want to lend a hand please let Dawn or Chris know.
