News from the Chair September 2025

As we progress into autumn and towards the end of the playing season we have a great deal going on.

We have already had a number of Club Competition finals with more on the way. Watch out for Heather's email that lists the dates and times of the various finals to be played.

This Sunday 7 September, starting at 10 am, we will be holding a Closing Gala for our Junior section who will be playing their semi-final and final games for the Junior Shield. The final for the Mini Bowlers has already been played and the trophies for both competitions will be presented at the Juniors Closing Gala.

Once all the Club finals have been played I will be writing to let you know the arrangements for this year's presentation Dinner that will be held at the Club on Saturday 25 October.

Immediately following this dinner we will be holding the Annual General Meeting on Monday 27 October. More details on this will follow from Angela Cary. Prior to the meeting we will be looking for members who are willing to support the Club by joining the Management Committee.

Thinking of dates for your diaries, the Management Committee have agreed to hold the Christmas Dinner on the evening of Sunday 14 December. This was another very successful event for the Club last year. Again more details will follow.

Friday night Bingo will restart on Friday 26 September with Angela Prosser making the food and the jackpot stands at £250. Chis Bridgeman is looking to hold 3 Bingo sessions per month and one quiz night throughout the autumn and winter months.

The Closing Gala will take place on Sunday 21 September. The day will start with the usual group photograph followed by a Spider with donations going to a local charity. We will then have a friendly game of bowls leading to a buffet provided by the three Club Captains and Chair. We will also be holding the draw for the summer raffle at this event. How to sign up to this event, playing or spectating, will follow soon and will be via the Club's website.

As you can see we have a great deal of activity over the next few weeks and I trust that as many of you as possible are able to support your Club.

Best wishes, Keith
