The season is in full swing now with many games, both friendly and competitive, being played.
Our Race Night was well attended and supported and a good sum raised towards our full kitchen refit.
The success and enjoyment of the Club's tour to Portugal last year is being repeated in October 2026 and 20 members have already shown an interest in another trip to Portugal. I am waiting for details of the cost and timetable from the travel company Bowling Abroad Holidays and I will circulate this information to all members in case anyone else wishes to travel.
We have held 3 public Open Days so far this year which have created some interest from possible new members and have two more Open days planned. The first is Saturday 21 June and the last of the season on Sunday 20 July.
This Sunday we have 5 local teams taking part in a Corporate Day which is when we offer local organisations and groups the opportunity to try their hand at lawn bowls. This is another way we can share our facilities with local people and get our name out to a wider audience.
Lastly we have had some success in attracting some Junior bowlers. We have 6 Juniors now and though early in their introduction to lawn bowls there are some positive signs that we have some very good bowlers on the way.
