News from the Chair Nov 2025

This is my last newsletter of the year but my first with the newly formed Management Committee.  At the recently held Management Committee meeting I was able to welcome three new members to the committee.  Firstly Brian Westcott who has become Club Captain, Garry Edwards, who has taken on the role of Chair of the Club competitions, and Mark Janaway as a General Committee member.

Gary in his new role of Chair of Club Competitions is joined on the Competitions Committee by Rob Oakley and Mark Jannaway.

During the winter months Chris Bridgeman continues to make offerings to the membership for social events and the next events are

• Friday 28 November - Bingo - with a £250 jackpot to be won

• Friday 5 December - music quiz night

• Sunday 7 December - Coffee morning

• Friday 12 December - Bingo - even if the jackpot is won on 28 November there will be a new one of £250

• Sunday 14 December - Christmas lunch.  Only 5 places left.

Please note that the Club can no longer accept cheques as payment.  Any payments due can be made either by card, cash or BACS.

Our Honorary Secretary, Angela Cary, will be writing to you soon to confirm the membership fees which are due on 1 January 2026.  

There are a few DIY jobs to tackle in the New Year and Vic and I will write to you in January to let you know what tasks need to be undertaken.  Are you handy with a paintbrush or screw driver?  Then please consider volunteering to take on a job to support the Club and keep it looking spruce.
