News from the Chair 7

One month on from my last newsletter we have been experiencing a busy period.

Our Corporate Day went very well with 11 teams competing for a hamper of goodies. More on this story can be read in Susanne's article in the Tetbury Advertiser. We will be holding this event again next year, 1 June 2024, and some teams have already signed up.

You may have noticed the work that Keith and Kate Apperley have been carrying out on our behalf on the machine store and green equipment sheds. Various scenes from around Tetbury are depicted in the painting and are an impressive addition to our club.

Hot news is that we are hosting a match, as a neutral venue, for two teams that are playing in the National Mixed 4s. The winners will be playing their next round match at Leamington. The teams are from Fairford and Spencer Moulton (Bradford-On-Avon) and a past member of ours, Pete Stinchcombe, is playing for Fairford. This will be a great match to watch at your club on Thursday 13 July starting at 6.30pm.

We now have a rota for the provision of teas and food at matches. Thank you to all who have volunteered. We have a further need for volunteers for club cleaning duties. The list of duties and dates is on show in the area outside the changing rooms. Please put your name down to help keep the clubrooms clean and tidy.

It is good to see so many club competitions being played with most advancing to quarter and semi final stages.

A discussion was held at the last Management Committee Meeting regarding the repayment of some of the loans made by members to the club. The Committee has agreed that once we have finalised this year's accounts we will be looking to repay some of the loans.

Weather permitting, enjoy the rest of the summer.
